Pythagoras AB offers a software solution and services for property, real estate, and facility management. On this page, I will review the cleaning app I worked on.
The project aimed to update their old app, and since it had been quite a while since they last talked to end users, it was time to reconnect and gather fresh insights.
During the research, end users expressed that they didn’t find the app user-friendly. They wanted a simple overview of their schedule, the ability to move easily between days, and most importantly, to see today’s shifts at a glance. Several also mentioned that a lot of their colleagues didn’t speak or read Swedish very well, and some were even illiterate.
Much of the new design relies on colors, icons, and images so that even users who can’t read can navigate the app through shapes and visual cues. Since this is a tool used at work, often in fast-paced environments, the interface also needed large, clear buttons and easily accessible actions.
After a few usability tests, it became clear that users needed more feedback. For example, confirmations like “You’ve completed your shift” or other indicators showing what’s happening and what actions have just been completed after pressing a button.
