I'm a UX designer who enjoys working according the design thinking process: taking an idea and to work towards a finished solution.
Hopefully my passion for UX design will shine through in this portfolio.
Learning about the audience, for whom are you designing? The people I design for are my road map to solutions.
Examples of methods: Interviews, surveys & card sorting.
Redefining and focusing your questions based on your insights from the empathy stage.
Examples of methods: Collect all the data you got from the Empathize phase, start looking for patterns and put together your insights in personas or in a user journey.
Brainstorming and coming up with creative solutions.
Examples of methods: Generate ideas, iterate, refine ideas in for example workshops, design studios or doing the crazy 8.
Building a representation of one or more of your ideas to show to others. (preferably rapidly and not putting too much work on the wireframe at first).
Examples of methods: Paper prototyping or any wireframes from low fidelity to pixel perfect prototypes in e.g. Figma or Adobe XD.
Evaluate finished objects with users to find out what works. Collect feedback and input for improvement.
Examples of methods: In my opinion it's always a good idea to do a couple of trial tests on your coworkers and family, so that you can tweak your test.
The best practice is to test live with the user, and even better with another UX designer so that you can take turns taking notes or improve the usability tests. But during these circumstances a usability test via Zoom or Lookback (depending on what you test) works great too!
I find it important to prototype, test rapidly and to fail fast so that you can iterate as many times as possible. By iterating you come with more improvements and will end with a more powerful design.
